SPDT means single pole, double throw: one common connection switches between two outputs. DPDT means double pole, double throw: two changeover circuits operate together. ON–ON models have no centre-off position; ON–OFF–ON models include a centre-off position. These are maintained-position switches, rather than momentary push switches.
